This particular design, with its luxuriant use of rich fabric, falling in to ripples and folds when worn, was originally inspired by the work of Vivienne Westwood and, as such, is known as, "The Vivienne".
Here, a beautiful handwoven, pure wool, deep fuchsia tweed has been combined with a stunning intense blue leather.
The tweed is produced in a small family run mill in Scotland in small batches and is of the most exceptional quality. Combine this with the delicious, butter soft, Italian leather detailing and iridescent silk taffeta lining, and you have a bag made of the most ridiculously luxurious materials.
Measuring approx. 14" x 18", the "Vivienne" is a substantial, fashionably over-sized bag with a totally on trend shoulder strap. The bag closes with a metal twist lock in the flap closure, and a magnetic snap inside the bag for extra security. Each of the three pockets, two exterior and one interior, closes with a YKK zip. The chunky metal handle adds a stunning finishing detail, and its sparkle, along with the bright fuchsia of the tweed, adds a definite glamourous edge to an otherwise fantastically practical bag.
All my bags are entirely handmade by me in a smoke free, and pet free studio. They are double-stitched throughout, and triple stitched at any stress points. To keep their shape, they are all fully interfaced, in this case, with the same interface as used in winter-weight patchwork quilts, and each comes packaged in its own protective cotton dust cover.
Every single bag we create is a one off design, never to be repeated in exactly the same way again. We love the creative challenge this affords us and knowing that each of our customers gets something totally unique to them!
